Behind The Scenes “Turn Down For WHAT???!!!!”

Banner

Nothing reminds me more of why I love this business than last minute surprises. And, like the flip of a coin, it looks like the industry smiled upon me with this winner. Sinestra Studios has your behind the scene’s first look at Sumerian Records own Upon a burning body featuring Bodycount lead singer, actor on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and LEGENDARY rapper… Ice-T. The two groups, who are current record label roster members and also survivors of this year’s Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, have teamed up to re-create a hit track “Turn down for what” for the 2014 CD “Punk Goes Pop Volume. 6” being released November 17th. The song, which was originally performed by Atlanta Hip Hop star Lil’Jon starring French producer DJ Snake (both parties co-producing this song) was released towards the end of 2013 by Columbia Records. These are not the only artists to be featured this year on Punk goes Pop. With artists such as August burns red, Crown the empire, Volumes, Palisades and many more rounding out the 13 track album. This segment of the music video recording included most of the non-performance segments and the lyrical action and was filmed on location in a strip club called “Vixen’s” out in Queens, NY. The message is pretty damn clear for this video. Lets just make this video balls to the wall outrageous, with dancers wearing horse head masks, outrageous attire and neurotic dancing. It was quite the homage to the piece being re-created. Upon A Burning Body opened this year with “The world is my enemy” landing at #39 on the Billboard 200 and Bodycount’s album “Manslaughter” landed on #102 spot of Billboard’s 200 on release. You can check out all the music on the band’s Facebook pages below as well. The song will be posted here when it is released but I assure you, its a banger. For now, check out the original Lil’Jon and DJ Snake version to hopefully calm your anticipation.
