Devin Townsend with Animals as Leaders 12/6/14

This is now day two of a monstrous December as I hurried myself back from an incredible mini-vacation at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut for Slipknot and Korn. With an hour before doors opening, I managed to procure my space in the line and enter a tour that has been on my radar since its announcement. Monuments and Devin Townsend had our photo pit opened for the entire set, where as Animals as Leaders only kept us for seven songs. Security did NOT enforce the standard three song protocol, and I was extremely happy about that. Devin Townsend came down to the photo pit and hugged photographers and shook hands with fans in the front and talked to people before running back into the dressing room. Monuments was full of crowd surfing goodness. Early interactivity with fans and lead singer Chris Baretto led to the high octane madness that shook the grand ballroom floors almost as if I was watching the show in a bouncy castle. Animals as Leaders guitar virtuoso Tosin Abasi made life too easy on stage, with crowd surfers in abundance. This was a perfect tour and a day two I am still reminiscing over.
