High Sea Adventures With Ghost Ship Octavius 12/9/15

Ghost Ship Octavius BannerIn a last minute request, my camera and I set foot once again to the “flash grounds” that is The Studio at Webster Hall. With no photo pit EVER utilized in the basement section of Webster Hall, it is only justified I use my flash to cover musicians and bands. This night was no different, with newcomers Ghost Ship Octavius coming into the fold. With their first ever live shows and third show ever happening in New York City. The group, run by World Entertainment, Inc. consists of members from God Forbid, Queensryche and solo artist Warrel Dance. With many different fabrics of musical integrity, the self-titled album “Ghost Ship Octavius” is a beautiful blending of musical composition and dramaturgy, one of which should not be missed. This band falls into Progressive Heavy Metal as it rightfully should. My comparisons are as follows; if you like Beyond Creation, Opeth, Vildjartha, Fates Warning, Enslaved etc, etc… you’ll appreciate this band very much. Throw in the past resumes of Parker Lundgren, Matt Wicklund and you have yourself a fantastic combo. If they come to your hometown, go see them. You will NOT, be disappointed.

The court Jester and The Renaissance Man rolled up into ONE. My life has been about music, and the pursuit of experiencing culture by learning the multi-faceted lives of roles throughout Music and Entertainment. Spanning 10 years as a Photographer, Interviewer, and Videographer, the best education you can ever find is the one you make of your own accord. My life is all here, I hope you enjoy the rollercoaster.
