Round 2 of The Darkness! 5/2/16

Back to The USSA Tour 5/2/16

THE DARKNESS… Man oh man was this a pleasant surprise. I didn’t expect a second coming BACK to Irving Plaza would be so fast, but here they were… doing what they do best. Their first show, being SOLD OUT at Irving, was close to being sold out once again, just because they didn’t doesn’t mean the show dragged. Justin Hawkins, lead singer for The Darkness however, had different strategies for how he will split his stage madness this time. Before, Justin surfed the crowd and jumped like a madman throughout the hour and a half set. This time however, he saved all the party tricks for the encore. It threw EVERYONE off who did see them before, including myself, since capturing the best parts of the night were specifically tailored to be at the very end instead of scattered throughout the night. His now dubbed “tradition,” of jumping into the crowd high atop the auditoriums secondary level is now a classic photo. I shot it before and I shot it again on this night, not to mention his VIP surfing. Justin jumped on top a VIP members shoulders and paraded the audience playing his trusty Gibson Guitar. It was classic Darkness. The end of the night, I stayed behind for an extra hour and a half to meet the band. I even got my photos signed from their first show, to which everyone was so nice and loved my work. Speaking of work, you can check out the photos below and PLEASE GO CHECK THIS BAND OUT DAMMIT!!!!
